About Me
I am an Intuitive Astrologer and Transformational Guide living in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband John Masters, who is a teacher of Vedic Meditation. I have lived in the Bay Area for 20 years, was born in Philadephia, when I was 9 my family moved to Maryland just outside of Washington, DC, and I also enjoyed living for several years in Burlington, Vermont before moving to CA. I love the process of awakening to spiritual essence, the process of healing, the natural world, the stars, my husband and my families (family of origin and spiritual family) and friends, and am very grateful for all the people who have touched my life & I theirs. I also thoroughly enjoy the ocean, good movies, great music, great food, restaurants and cooking, dance, art, creativity, and the many forms the power of the human spirit has. I find the exploration of the paradoxes of life to be a fascinating, emotional, mystical, and at times very funny journey.
What does sangha or community mean to you?
Relating with the community of human beings on the planet, as well as all other life forms, from a place of Oneness, with respect, awe, humor, compassion, gratitude, openness, grounding, instinct, appreciation, joy, witnessing, as ultimate expressions of the Divine born of Light, Silence, and Emptiness.
Do you practice green living? If yes, how?
I practice green living in all the ways I am conscious of and can, and this is continually growing as with humanity's evolving consciousness of Mother Earth and our inter-relationship with Her. I am in alignment with the broadened description Ananda at Go Green Sangha has described. I like it!
Do you meditate ? If yes what is your practice?
I practice Vedic Meditation, which is a transcendental meditation. I also have engaged in healing work with non-ordinary states of consciousness through breath, music, and various shamanic meditation practices, for the past 25 years. These practices combined with sitting transcendental meditation, and working deeply and professionally with intuition, has cultivated in me a view of every moment a "walking meditation" through the "dream" of life. Always opening to being awake, fluid, present, in witness, along with forgetting & remembering all along the way until it is simply sustained; open to being in loving presence and humor, laughter, enjoyment, and quiet centering in view of the whole of life.
What are your favorite eco-friendly products, places to hang out or shop in, and/or web sites?
Shopping locally for produce, and bulk items, where packaging is limited. I am impressed with Trader Joe's progress in making organic foods more and more available, although packaged... just recycle everything. Composting is great. I don't hang out much on websites, so I'll have to add on to this question. One of my most favorite green places to be is at our friend's home in Dorset, VT who have a gorgeous organic garden initiated by the younger generation and cultivated yearly by the whole family and some friends. Great bee cultivation in our yard by my husband John through tending a great black berry bush, hummingbird & bee attracting flowering plants, keeping the hummingbirds fed. Clothing made from hemp, or hemp + cotton. All hemp products - it is amazing how many products can be made from hemp - it is a plant that should be grown and cultivated and sold cheaply (no need for pesticides; this plant grows abundantly in almost any conditions) for clothing, foods, building products, paint, and the list goes on and on. Great to sprinkle hemp seeds on salads, cereal, etc... more to come......

ASTROLOGICAL “WEATHER” REPORT
by Joanne Masters, Intuitive Astrologer

Pisces Full Moon followed closely by Mercury Retrograde, the quintessential
2nd pass of Uranus opposing Saturn, and Pluto goes Direct Sept 10th thank
goodness! Big Weather and we are navigating well... (AFFIRMATION).

Let’s pull out our “inner surf boards” and keep our feet gently yet firmly on the
sand when we’re not in the water. Where else could we possibly be?
Fortunately, or not, lots of places.
